We are not for everybody. We do not sell the newest, lowest mileage or cleanest cars, but we do sell affordable used vehicles, with a real description. Some have dents, dings, scratches and stains. Some may have a tear in a seat, or a crack in the dash. Some may have a lot of miles, worn tires, or even a check engine light. But each car comes with a disclosure of any known issues. The last thing we want is for you to come and look at a car and tell us, “you didn’t mention that issue.”

Now that I’ve told you the bad, let me tell you the good. We make every effort to sell a good car and try to be sure that every car that we sell is accurately described. Most problems we will fix before it’s ever listed for sale, but if there is an issue that we are not going to repair, it will be described and disclosed. We average spending over $1,000 per vehicle on repairs and maintenance , to be sure the car is as safe and reliable as possible. While none of this guarantees that you will not have any issues, we feel that we do as good of a job as any dealer anywhere, on cars of this price range.

I don’t want to sell you on anything. Read our reviews, read the bad ones and our responses (yes, we have some 1 star reviews), ask friends and family if they know about us, ask your mechanic if they know about us, find out everything you can before you ever come by. Then if you decide we are your kind of people and place, come on by and meet us. We would love to meet you!

We are a husband and wife, family business. Our business is based on honesty and disclosure. If you don’t trust us because we are a used car lot, I don’t blame you! That is why we allow and recommend you take any of our vehicles to a garage or mechanic before buying. In our business, the cars description is meant to tell the true condition, not to talk you into buying it. Many other dealers have asked how we ever sell a car giving full disclosure. If you read our reviews, look at our awards, read our Facebook page comments, and see that over 100,000 people follow us on Tiktok, I think you will see that most people appreciate the way we do business.

We hope to have the opportunity for your business also.

Why do we not sell Classic Cars, when it's in our name?

In 2013 we had a dream of opening our own business, a used car lot. We wanted to sell daily driver vehicles as well as sprinkle in some classic cars. We found a location and made an agreement to purchase. This location had a fenced display area as well as a large indoor space to keep more valuable cars. Once the agreement was made and financing approved, we formed Competition Cars and Classics LLC.

For many reasons, beyond our control, the whole deal fell apart just weeks before closing.

It was 2015 before we opened our first location in Troutville, Va., and in late 2016, moved to our current location in Salem, Virginia. Neither of these locations, Troutville or Salem, had a secure storage or display area for the more valuable classic cars.

Our company had already been formed 2 years before we actually were able to open for business.

We kept the name rather than dealing with the State on changing corporation names.

We have sold a few classics over the years, but it has never been a business focus.

So if you found us searching for a classic car, we do apologize. If you found us searching for a great deal on an affordable daily driver car, truck or SUV, you found the right place!
